⚡IMPACT
My work allowed the company to purchase these components from various vendors, other than the wind turbine and solar panel manufacturers, at a significant savings to the company – at a global, to-date savings in the hundreds of thousands of dollars.

👋🏽 Reason for Leaving
I had mastered the skills required for this job, at which time the job transitioned from creative to steady state. I also had two very young kids at home and the traffic in and out of Portland was becoming untenable. In short, I needed a new challenge that offered growth closer to home.
🧾 Synopsis
Eager to contribute to the renewable energy sector, I embraced a contract opportunity at Avangrid Renewables (then Iberdrola Renewables)in October 2012. My primary objective was to gather comprehensive data on all wind turbine and solar panel components required to support our fleet – which consisted of a variety of makes and models of equipment from all over the world. The purpose for the creation of this dataset was to be able to clearly identify these materials, in order to diversify our vendor sources beyond the solar panel or wind turbine manufacturers themselves – thereby driving significant cost savings for the company.
For several months, I traversed the country, climbing around warehouses and wind turbine sites across the nation, meticulously gathering the requisite images and data to build a comprehensive dataset that meets my objectives, as well as my own personal rigorous standards. After successfully achieving this milestone, I was offered a full-time position as Data Warehouse Specialist. In this capacity, I assumed responsibility for not only for integrating and managing the data I had amassed in our global SAP Item Master, but also for its accurate use across multiple departments – as our customized SAP configuration did not integrate this data in the various siloed modules in which it was used.
To accomplish this, I spearheaded the creation, execution, and management of several cross-departmental processes. These included the development of a New Item Request process and the implementation of the SAP Framework Agreement process.
The New Item Request process facilitated the identification and incorporation of previously unprocured components into our local and global databases, as well as the enhancement of existing data and the resolution of duplicate entries. Newly identified components triggered a cascade of actions, including photographic documentation upon arrival, a process for confirming the material as new and not existing in our system attached to another identifier, and the identification of future procurement options from our Sourcing department.
My leadership in the SAP Framework Agreement process ensured the integrity of material data across our various vendor purchase agreements, streamlining fleet-wide procurement processes. Any discrepancies in this critical information during agreement execution caused significant disruption and avoidable financial losses, underscoring the importance of my oversight.
In terms of data integration, I collaborated closely with our headquarters in Spain to seamlessly integrate this dataset into our Global SAP Item Master, co-managing its maintenance thereafter. This dataset represented a unique asset within our company and the industry at large. Its integration into our global AP system empowered our international counterparts to diversify component sourcing as well, amplifying cost savings across the organization.
Finally, I led the development and upkeep of a user-friendly Parts Catalog on our Microsoft SharePoint server. Recognizing the challenges posed by SAP's interface, especially for frontline technicians and site managers, the Parts Catalog served as an intuitive and efficient tool for parts identification and retrieval, earning commendation from end users.
Of all achievements, I take particular pride in the development of the Parts Catalog, exemplifying my commitment to enhancing operational efficiency and user experience within our organization
