A near-native of the Pacific Northwest, I grew up in SW Washington on the mountain, at the coast, or in the gorge where I reside again today with my wife and kids. Fueled by my love of family, copious amounts of coffee, and an insatiable need to learn and grow.

Father of daughters. Runner of trails. Unabashed Jim Henson fan. Convinced all the secrets to life are hidden in Ani DiFranco songs.

An intrinsically driven person, my life is defined by the balancing of, and engaging with, the two dominant yet diametrically opposed drives inside me ‒ the need for logic, order, simplicity, and efficiency, and the need for creative exploration.

My mind is constantly analyzing the structures and processes (form & function) of any given system I'm interacting with, through these lenses. The logical part of my mind enjoys mapping and analyzing these systems for things like inefficiencies or contradictions, while the creative side of my mind revels in finding innovative solutions for these discoveries and conveying them in concise, visually intuitive ways.

Initially finding separate outlets for each of these drives, my career path – from data management to business intelligence, brand management, and knowledge management – ultimately converged into a single skillset that requires both, which I call Dynamic Systems Management.

In short, I do my best work with my feet firmly planted on the ground and my is allowed to freely drift through the clouds.

Although I believe understanding and optimizing the structures and processes of any system is key to its success, I am also keenly aware of the limitations of this mindset in isolation. For this reason, I prefer to work in cross-functional teams with shared vision and complementary personality types and skill sets.

Currently obsessed with concise communication ‒ specifically the pathway from clarity of thought to effective expression, leading to shared understanding ‒ with an emphasis on visual communication.

I'm dedicated to win/win scenarios, and I know how much can be accomplished when we paddle in the same direction ‒  so let's get to it!

Although I find the term Dynamic Systems Manager problematic in it's vagueness, I am stuck with it for a lack of a better term.

THE VALUE OF THIS WORK:

• When a pivot in strategy of TKTK is made, the entire system pivots at the same time.
